Strike, Day 2 (Belated)

Sorry I forgot to provide an account of my experiences on Day 2 of A World Without DeCamp. My commute was so uneventful, it slipped my mind. While DeCamp management and striking workers were beating each other up, my train was picking me up and depositing me on time, without incident. As should always be the case.

Had the same experience today. Got to work on time (would have been here even earlier had I taken a direct train and not one that stopped in Newark, but I figured that all out now). Uneventful is the word, plus I could use my cell if I had to.

Whether or not we might be inconvenienced, the DeCamp drivers have a right to expect paid sick days (they get none now)and to discourage DeCamp management from messing around with their pensions. These are expectations of all working people, and I support those goals for the drivers as well. I am only amazed that they sat at the table with management for over a year haggling about what most people expect in their jobs. While I have had no problem with NJ transit buses, the DeCamp drivers look like Jolly Joes compared to the dour driver I had this morning.
